Antonio Mitkovski - Waiting for the rain

Nadaljevali so s potjo v vasico Škrip, kjer so jih sprejele lokalne gospe s ponudbo domačih izdelkov. V ljubkem Braškem muzeju so si ogledali delček zgodovine otoka Brač.

Mi, oni in naše večerne dejavnosti.

Probably the last sunny day

We spent most of the day in the classroom learning about the 3D programme Rhinoceros. Boštjan, our 3D instructor, introduced us the programme’s essentials and helped some of us to start designing our products. Although we worked indoors for all day, we enjoyed it and felt relaxed. Some of us continued sketching ideas, others were already hand – crafting with paper and modelling clay. We want to make the best presentation for our client before we start stone carving the final product.

We started to work on the additional assignment for our final project – the magazine. We made few interviews with our professors. Some of us went discovering the city and it’s attractions for the movie and reportage. The day ended with a beautiful view on illuminated city and it’s reflection in the sea. And then the evening begins…

And another memory of our mentor, who went back home yesterday.

Finally first road trip

This day was amazing. We went to Trogir and Split. I like the way we travel because we go by van, by ferry and by bus. Trogir has fantastic heritage, with a sobverious castle with sightly with stone. We were in a fantastic museum too, that was a village; i can’t imagine what living there is.. One of the most emotional thing was at the return. We were in the van and the radio was switch on. Suddenly one song started to play and we started to whistle the melody. We were tired but happy at the same time.

After two days in a little white room, the sun and the wind in my face this morning was very grateful.

The days ago when i saw out of the window . The three lines of this place : white stone, blue sea , and the green tree gave me a lot of peace and the power for getting better.

Today in Split my eyes went from one thing to an other. A Lot of information in a few time and to many things to remember. At all the corners and small streets I found new treasures. And I felt the need to touch, smell and ear all of them. But the day was to short.

Every stone has it’s own history.

It is interesting to see, during the evening meetings, the stone cavers reaction when even the smallest wine drop touches a stone surface. They all go nuts running for some water to clean it immediately.

This is because if they don´t hurry, the mark will remain.

Even the strongest has weakness, that may become scars.

Ussa, issa, ussa, issa…

Ussa, issa, ussa, issa…mi tolčemo, se veselimo, smejemo,…, preklinjamo, se jezimo, obupujemo,… mi tolčemo, se veselimo, smejemo, pojemo…, preklinjamo, se jezimo, obupujemo,… mi »izravnavamo plohu« – izravnavamo ploskev.

Spoznavamo osnovna kamnoseška orodja in se učimo prvih kamnoseških korakov. Svoje delo preverjamo s kotnikom in letvijo.

“And for those who don’t understand, another in Erasmus English”

Ussa, issa, ussa, issa … I whipped up, we look forward to laughing, …, curse, get angry, despair … I whipped up, looking forward, we laugh, we sing …, curse, get angry, despair … I “leveled, plohu” – being leveled surface.

We learn basic quarrying tools and learn the first steps of quarrying. Compensation plot is a process in which raw piece of stone, leveled surface. The procedure is the first task you perform on the stone from the quarry when he “lured” to the workshop. Document balancing plot begins by aligning the edges of the plot. In this exercise we make the bumper and our best friend sledgehammer. Followed by phase in which the surface rough to handle the “piketom” and spoke and of course a sledgehammer. Verify our work with the bracket and rail. When a rough surface is treated phase following treatment with “krempačem.” At the end of the surface is leveled with toothed hammer (bočardo).

It is not so easy, especially it is more tiring and painful as writing this blog. Lucky for us that they are professional and moral support our teachers and masters of secondary schools bush. Without them, the tool will soon odfrčalo the sea, our butts and a beer.

Ussa, issa, ussa, issa … I whipped up, we look forward to laughing, …, curse, get angry, despair … I look forward to being whipped, laugh, sing … and at the end of a tired proud of rest.

Muscle Hands.
